Una mamma è una creatura strana e controversa: tutti ne hanno una, ma non ne esiste nessuna esattamente uguale all’altra.
È incredibile come, nonostante il loro essere così differenti tra loro, conservino però certi capisaldi che ce le fanno raggruppare sotto un unico nome ed una sola idea, un’idea di dolcezza ed amore incondizionato che trova la sua personificazione.
Una mamma ha la forza di sopportare le più atroci sofferenze pur di darci alla luce, ma è allo stesso tempo colei che si lascia soggiogare così facilmente dalla fragilità di certi giorni.
La sua eterna maledizione-benedizione è il non aver mai riposo, vessata da impegni e responsabilità tutte incentrate esclusivamente su di noi, che affronta con dedizione e costanza perché consapevole di contribuire un pezzetto per volta al conseguimento della nostra felicità.
Tutto questo senza neanche un secondo di time-out, perché la scelta di esser madre è un viaggio di sola andata, una condizione meravigliosamente impegnativa che si prende per sempre il suo tempo, ma che in cambio le restituisce una pienezza nel cuore ed una gioia che nessun’altra cosa al mondo potrebbe mai darle.
L’essere un qualcosa di straordinario e sorprendente non è un dono esclusivamente umano: vi presentiamo ora 5 incredibili mamme del regno animale, per scoprire così, in maniera un po’ inusuale, quella marcia in più che ogni madre possiede, e i diversi modi in cui la mette in atto, che sia una donna, un piccolo insetto od un possente rettile.
1)La mamma elefante
Portando avanti una delle gravidanze più lunghe ed impegnative che ci siano (stiamo parlando di circa 22 mesi di gestazione!), l’elefantessa merita senz’altro un posto d’onore nell’elenco dei genitori d’eccezione. Il “piccolo”, se così possiamo chiamarlo, considerato che alla nascita pesa più di 20 Kg, nei primi giorni di vita è completamente cieco ed indifeso, ma per fortuna può contare sulle premurose attenzioni di tutte le femmine del branco, che provvederanno a nutrirlo, a difenderlo, ad accudirlo in assenza della madre, e persino a fargli qualche bella “doccia” con la proboscide!
2)La mamma alligatore
Suvvia, non fate quella faccia: le apparenze ingannano, date una possibilità a questa povera madre!
Spegnerebbe il vostro scetticismo scoprire che la femmina di alligatore non solo si preoccupa di determinare il sesso dei nascituri mediante la costruzione di nidi più o meno caldi (maggiore calore provoca la nascita di maschi, minore di femmine), ma li trasporta anche per lunghissime distanze tenendoli al sicuro nelle sue fauci quando il suo territorio viene minacciato?
3)La mamma ragno
Aracnofobici e aracnofobiche alla lettura, mi duole informarvi che gli animali a 8 zampe più odiati al mondo sono tra i genitori più pazienti e premurosi che ci siano!
Proprio così: le femmine di ragno-lupo, che nel periodo prima della schiusa delle uova le tengono attaccate su tutto il corpo come un vestito d’alta moda, consentono ai piccoli appena nati di rimanere giorno e notte sulla loro schiena, in piena libertà, finchè questi non si sentiranno pronti di scoprire il mondo da soli.
4)La mamma cercopiteco Roloway
Questa piccola scimmietta dal pelo morbido e bicromatico, è molto legata al suo unico cucciolo. Infatti, dal primo istante in cui il piccolo viene al mondo, la mamma lo mette al caldo tra il suo folto pelo e lì lo lascia, protetto e coccolato, proprio come farebbe un canguro dentro un marsupio, e continuerà a prendersi totalmente cura di lui per i successivi due anni, che nel duro regno animale significa ‘per tantissimo tempo’.
5)La mamma giraffa
Ultima ma non per importanza viene la giraffa, altro mammifero dalla vita genitoriale tutt’altro che rilassante. La gestazione dura dai 400 ai 460 giorni, al termine dei quali la forte e determinata femmina partorisce un piccolo che alla nascita vanta ben 1,8 m di altezza! Di indole timida ed indifesa per natura, il nuovo arrivato passerà le prime 3 settimane nascosto sotto la mamma, alla quale continuerà a richiedere nutrimento per i successivi 12 mesi.
A proposito di animali, in occasione di questa ricorrenza il Bioparco di Roma, noto Giardino Zoologico situato nel cuore di Villa Borghese, ha introdotto tante belle attività e novità da poter vivere nella settimana dall’8 al 14 maggio 2017, tra cui:
– La riduzione del biglietto per tutte le mamme, che al posto di spendere i consueti 16 € per il biglietto d’ingresso, pagheranno esattamente la metà;
– La realizzazione di laboratori in cui mamma e figlio potranno costruire il loro personale ricordo dell’esperienza naturalistica che faranno;
– La preparazione di speciali itinerari guidati, dal titolo “Naturalmente mamme”, in cui verranno illustrate le “specialità” e tantissimi curiosi aneddoti di diversi animali dello zoo, con alcuni dei quali sarà addirittura possibile trovarsi faccia a faccia ed interagire!
